Apple’s retail stores celebrated their 15th birthday on Thursday, although it may be hard time to figuring a time before they existed.

When they first opened, the concept of an Apple Store looked like a risky proposal — The New York Times called it “an aggressive move during an economic slow down”.

Before- Apple’s computer business was doing alright, but the personal computer landscape was still controlled by Windows PCs.

Fifteen years and 479 stores later, the stake Apple made paid off. Apple stores generate more revenue per square foot than another retailer . They are so successful that Microsoft has opened their own shops in the hopes of replicating the success of Apple.

On January 9, 2007 Apple introduced the iPhone. The iPhone was a revolutionary product from Apple and it changed the way smart phones look in work. This video is from MacWorld 2007 where Steve Jobs introduced the original iPhone (1st Gen. / 2G).

One of my favourite video.
